Jesus in Athens (balanced mercy ministry)

In this topic participants will be presented with the main biblical arguments for the necessity of having a balanced ministry of word and deed.

Why is this topic important:

In our times the absolute truth is justice.

People demand to see the theory in practice – specifically addressing the outcry for justice – before they hear anything from our pulpits.

The main demand is for something to feel just and right before it makes sense and be convincing.

Therefore we need to have a balanced ministry between word and deed.

What we are going to do:

In this topic participants will be presented with the main biblical arguments for the necessity of having a balanced ministry of word and deed.

Participants will hear the story of various mercy ministries (i.e. ministry to victims of sex trafficking, ministry to refugees) and visit their work sites.

There might be given an opportunity of service towards a specific group within the framework of an event or a structure.

The Goal:

By the end of this topic, participants will be more aware of the biblical centrality and ministry importance of being a voice and help for the outcasts, the refugee, the poor and the weary.

Participants will be able to see by first hand the so needed balances between being a church of proclaiming the gospel and serve the needs of the society.
